Okay so just a quick review.1. This item does have a smell, but I think that will go away after washing. 2. This item is off-white in color and I wanted it to be as white as possible. I'll bleach it and see what happens. 3. There are at least two very specific looks, but to be honest it's not an ugly thing or a design issue for me. Overall good value for money. It's really big, taking up my entire couch and hanging on the floor. I'm going for that shabby chic coastal style, so I'm hoping bleach will get me closer to that look. Since I don't use it for painting etc., I can't say anything about the water resistance.
