DiaSharp Continuous Stones - Fine

I've been using a 6 inch Fine Grain DMT DiaSharp Continuous Stone for 5 years or more. I recently bought two more, an 11" Super Slim from Revain and a Super Slim Normal from somewhere else. A long time ago I bought one with holes, with an uneven surface. Not even close. Not that good. You definitely need them a consistent finish. A lot more money and definitely worth it. And all I've had to work with so far is 6" DMT Feinstein. After years of use, it still works very well. I was super excited to get bigger and smaller stones. Well, I am sending them both back for exchange. I read reviews here of continuous DMT stones that have bumpy and uneven surface and I couldn't believe it. Now I believe I think it's classic - DMT tries to maximize profits by either a) selling 'seconds' to uninformed buyers, or b) manufacturing with cheap labor or a less controlled process. fine stone is smaller (6 inches) but has a perfectly uniform grain size. When you run a blade over it there is no noticeable roughness or bumps other than the constant friction of the sand. New stones feel like someone has rubbed hot solder on them. (Exaggerated, yes.) Bumps and bumps everywhere. I hope when I send it back they will understand I know what I'm talking about and send me a "first quality" version. If I'm wrong that there is a "LIST" version of the product, then that really sucks because they're useless to me. If the next stone is the same poor quality I will try another option - go to a smaller 6 inch size like the old one I have.
