Serious Problem Solved with 2003 Toyota 4Runner

This product was just what I needed to solve a big problem. I have a 2003 Toyota 4Runner with a very short (about 2 1/2" deep) 2" receiver. I bought a CURT 18153 cargo carrier as a basket and was very disappointed to find that the connection between them did not allow for a 5/8" pin as the end of the cargo basket connection was also about 1/2". long and hit my car's under-mounted spare wheel. After considering my options: cut 1/2 inch off the cargo basket link, remove the spare tire, or enlarge the existing hole on the cargo basket link, I did a Google search and found other Toyota owners with the same issue hit a CURT solution with part number 45791. While not perfect, it reduces cargo basket capacity (from 500 to 350 lbs), but fits into a low profile 2" 4Runner receiver, connects (with a deeper receiving end) to a CURT load carrier, allows for pin locks 5 /8" in both joints and increases the distance of 8" between the rear of the vehicle and the rear. cargo basket. It's everything I was hoping for when I bought it from the Revain warehouse for thirty dollars with shipping. The build quality of the product is excellent - durable (17 pounds) with smooth sliding joints on both vehicle and load. Carrier. The connection is secure (the holes are the right size) and there is a slight play when connecting. I love that the part of the extension that fits into the car's receiver is solid steel and not hollow. Very strong! One reviewer pointed out that this is a custom size in terms of length, and that helped too (put a photo of the tape measure next to it, it really helped). It was perfect for my needs - just what I needed to make another product work for me. While I wish everything went smoothly from the start, this product hasn't left me a lot of money for a holder I can't use. I would recommend it, but measure your vehicle's receiver depth first. **The photos attached to this review are of my vehicle to illustrate the issue I am having. Obviously vehicles vary and the dimensions of this product may not be desirable to some. Please be aware of your vehicle's receiver depth before ordering this extension as it will make a difference. ** The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5? There is some play in overtime that needs adjustment. There is a 1/2 inch gap between the end of the receiver on the vehicle and the tab on the extension, which should be flush with it. Some hair ties (hair ties) or rubber washers will help fill in the gap, but it seems like there shouldn't be any gap at all with a 5/8 inch pin.
