There are some downsides to living in "Magic Land" as some call New Mexico, but after a decade and a half of living the climate is NOT one of those Disadvantages. We have four seasons in Albuquerque, some snow in the winter and about six weeks of heat in the summer, but never over 100 F. For this climate I found the ideal ceramic heaters and used them during that time. . There is one central stove for the whole house which we use in the winter to get a base temperature of around 59F. Ceramic heaters can provide instant heat when and where you need it. There are three people in the house; one was in "Error" mode, so when Vine offered me that one, I said yes. In general I am very satisfied. It can be easily switched on and off and the temperature can be regulated either directly on the device or via the remote control. Calm. The tall, slim design minimizes space requirements. For me, the critical thing about any heater is that it shuts itself off automatically if knocked over (e.g. by cats). You can program the heater to turn on and off, but like the microwave, I don't see the point of using all the programmable features just yet. The heater can be switched on and generates the maximum amount of heat in less than a minute. You can also install the heater in rotary mode to heat more space, not just where you are. In terms of an important value for money, the way we use it pays for itself in just one mild winter instead of heating the entire house to 22 degrees. Also, one of New Mexico's "dirty little secrets" is how cheap our electricity is. My brother who lives in California was amazed at how cheap it was. It would be nice to say that sun and wind are low cost drivers and we are increasingly using these sources. But the main reason is the dirty, polluting giant coal-fired power plant in the Four Corners area. This heater costs, I've been using it for a month, one star. So 5 stars.
