You can mount this Daystar Fender!

This product is advertised as suitable for 1984-2006 Jeep Cherokee vehicles. I have a 1992 Jeep Cherokee and it will NOT fit the factory fender housing! It is too wide to fit in the factory fender shell when installed as intended, with the largest notched ring facing up. However, you CAN get this fender to work in your jeep by inserting it into the fender body upside down, with the smallest diameter end facing up! The smaller rings around the Daystar fender are 1โ€ณ apart. These rings are used to cut off areas on the rubber bump. The 3 pinch "fingers" on your factory metal fender shell are just over 1 inch. down from the inside of the fender of the factory fender housing (measured top to bottom). reversed into the factory fender shell, it snaps onto the first cut barb ring on the Daystar fender. DO NOT use grease or oil to lubricate the fender. You will need to attach the jounce bumper using a small bottle jack that sits on top of the axle pad that your coil spring sits on (around). Your coil spring should be off, the tires off, the car jacked up as high as possible, and your axle propped up with wooden blocks slightly off the ground. You may need to unscrew the factory lower and upper control arms from the axle, one side at a time, to properly align the axle/bottle jack/Daystar bumper. It will offer a little resistance but will snap on the first ring cut. I have a 1992 Jeep Cherokee with a 6" lift kit and a set of long arms, so I had to cut the fender off at the largest notched ring BEFORE attaching it. This was to ensure the installed fender was the correct length for my application and to allow room for the coil spring (you install it with the widest end down). The fender should be mounted with the widest end up! Depending on your application, you may need to cut a larger fender than I did. Use a miter saw or hacksaw with grease etc to cut the fender to length. no I have NOTHING to do with Daystar. I just had to make this product and am working on getting my Jeep back on the road the same day I got the bumper! God! Necessity is the mother of all inventions! I hope this helps you if you encounter the same problem as me! The best!
