Review on Precision Engineering: Prusament Mystic Filament with Superior Diameter Tolerance by Darrell Beecher

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Please do not let this be a sign of quality control violations.

This is a very good filament, but I'm afraid qc is getting worse. I have purchased several rolls of this material in different colors and they were all well packaged and sealed, however this roll of mystic green color was not properly vacuum sealed, there are no holes in the bag to indicate a leak and there are no bruises around the bag around the spool opening. . The desiccant was sandwiched between the coil and the bag. It still prints well so I don't think it has absorbed moisture. I've seen this with cheaper filament, but not of the quality I've come to expect from my $30 filament manufacturer. I hope it's just a coincidence because if this becomes the norm I'll go back to cheap and not look back.

Pros
  • Prusa Polymers own production. We were not satisfied with the quality of the threads on the market. So we decided to make our own. As part of the Prusa Research group of companies, we are the only 3D printer manufacturer with our own filament production.
Cons
  • New competitors have emerged
