This is the best! I've bought one for every kitchen I visit and give them away as gifts. In fact, I usually keep extras so that when people comment I can give them one right away! I have another in my van and camping gear, well protected with covers. The knife is surprisingly sharp, hardly ever dulls and can be sharpened easily. The size and shape are perfect for versatile use - if I only had one knife, this would definitely be it. It's well balanced, thick enough not to hit your knuckles, rounded enough for chopping garlic on the counter, and has a comfortable grip on the handle. Dry it before putting it in the case and never cover it dirty, and you don't have to worry about roughness inside the sheath (which seems difficult to clean). Keep your fingers out of the sheath when inserting the knife and you'll be fine - never thought this would be a problem until reading other reviews. Oh, and it's PURPLE! Very pretty purple. I still can't believe how cheap they are for such a quality product. I can't imagine what loved ones could have about it.
