This camera is advertised as having a 170° field of view, but it's actually around 60°. I measured this by reversing the car until the sign was at the edge of the monitor screen and then using a compass to measure the angle between the camera and the pole. It turned out to be 30°, giving a total of 60° of total angle (30° in each direction). First, it means you can't see the corner of the car you're trying to pass while parallel parking, and you certainly can't see the car coming down the street you're trying to reverse into (what the angle is). allow 170°). Also, with the camera pointed down as sharply as possible, there is about 3 feet of ground space behind my car that is not showing on the monitor. I measured this by going back to where the kids were chalking in the street and comparing how much of the drawing was showing on the monitor to where they were in relation to the back of the car. This is a blind spot large enough that a child, dog, or toy could easily go unnoticed. On a positive note, I went through a car wash and the camera survived the impact. That warmth isn't really an advantage when the camera itself performs differently than advertised in terms of viewing angles.
