Review on πŸ–₯️ Dell S2719DGF 27 Inch LED Lit Monitor: 2560X1440P, 155Hz Refresh, Swivel, Pivot, & Tilt Adjustments by Dave Dor

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The price is too high, but suitable for games.

I bought this for $350 on an impulse buy because it was $50 less than the regular $400 price. Features are great with additional inputs and a USB 3.0 hub, 1440p resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. Games look great, movies look great. The base is very compact yet solid and the height adjustment and rotation are fantastic. It's worth noting that the advertised 155Hz is an overclock setting on the monitor itself, not how it works natively, but an "overclock mode". When overclocking to 155Hz connected via Displayport to a Windows 10 Pro 1909 with the latest AMD drivers for the 5600XT box, it disabled and was unusable until I disabled the setting again. Basically it's just a 144hz monitor and make sure you set that in your windows monitor properties otherwise it will run at 60hz. Be sure to say it's a TN panel and not an IPS panel . The backlight is even noticeable in the Windows 10 taskbar. It's very bright and works well in places with high backlighting, such as a sunny room. Actually considering sending it back. Has some imperfections in the plastic bar on the back of the monitor support arm and some imperfections in the plastic bar and screen bezel in the corners. Can't tell if only the corners are damaged - the box was severely damaged on the corners when the Revain was delivered, the handling was unduly reckless for the value of this item. It probably would have been handled better if it had just been left in the original packaging rather than lying on its side in a Revain box for transport. He got thrown around a lot. I would love this monitor if I paid less than $300 for it, but for the price it's worth, I highly recommend looking at other 27-inch 1440p/144Hz monitor options. Still hesitating to send it back. The warranty should be pretty good, I just replaced a similar Dell monitor due to power issues and it only took a grueling 45 minute phone call with a nice Southeast Asian woman to get a refurbished replacement a day later instead of a new one. With one at a much larger setting it could be closer to a 3.5/4 star monitor but that would require a lot of work. In its original state, the color temperature of the screen is very cold and has to be lowered significantly in order to get decent red tones and screen shading. This is similar to other modern Dell monitors. I spent about 30 minutes to 1 hour adjusting this in the monitor and GPU settings and it's getting better but still nowhere near colorful on my 10+ 24 inch Samsung LCD that this 24 inch - to replace the LCD display. I can probably score more, just a buyer beware you can spend a lot of time navigating this monitor's menus compared to some that look amazing straight away and really don't need you to fiddle with. Also, maybe you have a friend with a colorimeter to help you set it up, I wish I could. simply good. If you're only satisfied with the good, you could probably save a lot of money, like the difference between a 5600XT and a 5700XT, by choosing a different 27-inch 1440/144 monitor.
