This is very important and I wouldn't buy it if I knew about it. You can't turn the heating on from the app, nor can you use Alexa or anything else to turn it on. This is due to US safety regulations for heaters. I don't know of any way around this as it requires your location services on your phone during setup. Of course, Dyson wouldn't advertise it. Note that the demos only do "turn on auto mode" and "turn on fan"! Really annoying because it's the main heater I use for my living room, but so inconvenient to turn it on every time because it turns itself off after a while (another safety feature). I just wanted a car heater with a thermostat without messing around with a stupid remote control. Got it at a big discount but still DO NOT recommend it.
