I've only had to use them once this season but these chains work great. I've never worn this type of necklace either. A tip: wear something with long sleeves to protect your clothes; At least the cuffs of any shirt you wear are at risk of getting dirty. otherwise the first chain took about 50 minutes because I had a slight learning curve. The second chain took about 10 minutes so wasn't bad at all. I felt absolutely safe on snow and ice. it wasn't difficult at all to remove them - just unhook and yes!
