Review on 🐶 Water-Resistant High Tech Pet Micro Sonic 5 Collar with Digital Transmitter MS-5 by Patricia Rubio

It's a pretty great concept and almost a necessity for us but there are a couple of BIG design flaws. The door itself looks very high quality, strong, reliable and works very well. As a central component, it would have gotten 4 stars. first complaint: installation and sealing seems to have been completed after some thought. Where the main product is good, the company simply adds a few inferior gaskets in random lengths that aren't even long enough to seal completely. I had to make a trip to the hardware store to get weather seals to make this even remotely energy efficient with HVAC. Second complaint: The included locking system is basically useless. They provide no secure way to latch the sliding door, no hook on the pet door, nothing at all to secure it other than a piece of metal with no real instructions on how it should be attached. The solution was to buy a strong dowel rod from the hardware store and cut it down to keep the sliding door from sliding. Third complaint: The collars are of very, very poor quality. God forbid you get an old version of the collar and there's nothing in there to hold it together, no screw, no stronger clip, nothing so it falls apart. The solution was to just wrap everything in duct tape. The newer version at least had a small screw to secure it, but it is still very poorly made. Both versions of the collar are on a very thin nylon cord with a double ring attachment, which is also very cheap. There's no way to attach it to a regular collar, so you'll have to wrap this thin cord around your dog's neck and hope it holds. And what's worse, they charge $50 for the extra collar! At such an exorbitant price, the company should have offered a much better sensor to match the quality of the door itself. Bottom line, the door itself is well designed and well built, but everything about it is complete nonsense. It looks like the company spent time building the door and then got very lazy about everything else, including installation, security and access. Overall, the whole package deserves 2 stars. The door is 4 stars for good workmanship with some minor imperfections, but the peripherals (like that collar) deserve far less than 1 star, which makes up for it. I would recommend the door if the seller/manufacturer fixes these major flaws, but until then don't waste your money, it's fast becoming a headache.
