The most important thing about this adapter is the chipset. It uses the first released USB3.0 5GbE chip called aqc111u. This chip (and thus the adapter) is supported by the main Linux kernel (module name: aqc111) as I have verified. It also has many ethernet/offload features that reduce CPU load/interrupts: - rx/tx checksum - scatter collection - TSO - GSO - GRO - and a few other less important features. Haven't tested throughput or stability yet but will connect it to another still in the post using a very short custom Cat6 cable. I'll update after testing if I remember. I've had a Sabrent before and haven't had any problems, I've heard good things about the chip in this adapter and hope it meets my standards (or at least beats the USB3 debug connection between hosts). Think how fast a 5GbE link is 0.2 nanoseconds between bits. It's very fast.
