This product works as described. I was able to run at 900-1000 watts consistently and it even lasted over 1600 watts for a few minutes. For any DC circuit, the power supply must be sufficient and the cables must be able to handle the current required, which at 12 volts can be very high. (1000W / 12V = 83.3A). If it trips due to a voltage drop, it's usually due to insufficient power from the source (batteries, solar panels, etc.) or copper that is too thin, too long, and/or pure. I have not used the cords that came with this unit as they barely match the amperage and cause a voltage drop when more watts are used. (For 1000 watts you'll need 2AWG or better wire as long as it's no longer than 50ft. I'm using 4 x 100Ah 12v batteries (over 20 hours) with 9" 2/0 AWG wires, which is great for that. .
