I worked the night shift for over 30 years. I used a floor box fan to block out ambient noises in the house (ie: four kids). I wish I had this little device many years ago. Much easier to use. When I have to travel, it is easier to transport and more discrete than a 20" box fan.The sleep machine is approximately 3" in diameter and 1.5" thick. Fits in the palm of my hand and takes up very little space on the night stand or travel bag. The device produces two fan noises and a surf sound. I was surprised how loud this device was on the high volume setting. I rarely use it turned all the way up. The battery lasts a good 10-12 hours when fully charged. It can also be used while the charging cable is plugged-in without damaging the device.I recommend this device for any one needing a small portable device to block ambient noises while sleeping. FYI: I purchased this device from Ebay.com and have not received any compensation for this review.
