I live in a two story log home with a 10 foot wide cinder block chimney and an empty brick in the middle. Wire mesh is attached to all ceilings on the first floor to delimit the signal. I assume this was installed to secure the molding to the ceiling. This is a pretty good semblance of a Wi-Fi Faraday cage. I had to place my wired/wireless router next to the TV and connect it to the TV with a network cable to get an efficient connection. I've tried different WiFi extenders over the years, but they don't provide a reliable connection when I'm moving around the house. In the end, I gave up on my decision to try this mesh solution with three Deco modules. I tried different locations but couldn't get a good, reliable signal on either floor. The chimney effectively blocked a good signal. Out of desperation, I ordered two more. I know I have a very good signal throughout the house and haven't had any problems. My three grandkids play games on their iPads, my wife, son, his wife and I can use our smartphones while the grandparents play and Tivo streams a movie. Everything without problems. The purchase cost more money than I had planned, but I'm very happy. Oh, and three and two sets of refurbished blocks looked brand new. Three sets were in their original boxes and looked like new. Ordered for two units were not in separate boxes also looked unused. I am very happy with this purchase and the performance of these devices.
