I bought it to burn videos to Blu-ray and it works as expected. I use it with macOS and Final Cut Pro X; no additional software required. It does exactly what I need. I also used it to rip Blu-ray disc with MakeMKV and for some strange reason it never rips at more than 1.9x. For comparison, my seven-year-old Asus Blu-ray reader copies at 5.9x. Why would a newer device be so much slower? No idea, but that's the way it is. So if you plan to use this as a copy machine I would skip it. But for Blu-ray recording, it does its job very well. I also appreciate the small size.
