No more horrible sewage smell in the basement. There was a clog, the old plastic cap was removed to clear the clog, replaced very loosely by a technician. Terrible smell which I assumed was 'debris' from the drain pipe. No matter how much bleach and hot water was poured down the sewer, the smell lingered. In the end it turned out that the smell came from the sewers. I tried screwing the lid on tightly, but it was too rusty. Googled and found this product. Tightened, tightened, tightened again with the tool and finally it no longer stinks of disgusting sewage gas.
