In our decade-old home with no Ethernet and plaster walls, Wi-Fi (used) is going to be a struggle to get a good connection to every corner of the House. So we used these powerline adapters to create a network connection to our streaming media devices on the other side of the house. Pros: - Very easy setup - Very fast connection. We were able to load our internet connection at 200Mbps and never had a problem with the need to buffer videos from Netflix. - Low waiting time. We were able to use this to stream games at home from our gaming PC to the other end of the house, only adding 6-8ms of latency (depending on the software). Cons: - I was never sure if the connection was properly encrypted. because the light on the device was blurry and the manual I remember was blurry too. It was supposed to have 128-bit encryption, but I could never figure out if it would automatically re-enable/sync devices for encryption after powering off and shutting down.
