Wow! Great siphon, hold the outlet lower than the inlet and give the inlet a quick shake for a few seconds and you're good to go. Solid materials in my opinion, although I didn't measure the flow rate, I did test it in a five gallon bucket. I filled the bucket and ran the hose until it overflowed. The bucket was placed on the table about three feet off the ground. I put in the siphon and shook it, the garden faucet was still leaking, and two minutes later the bucket was empty, the siphon stopped sucking, the water level dropped below 1/2-3-4 inches. A great item to have in case of a flood or other plumbing emergency.
