Review on Dorman HELP 96034 Preheater Hose by Andy Mitts

I was told on Revain that this hose would not fit my Volvo S70. Having bought a 1 7/8 x 18 hose that was too tight and too short, I figured this 2 x 28 product would probably be right, and it is. So if you have a Volvo 850, S or V70 this heater hose is for you. Besides, you have to have one. I didn't know there was a thermostat in the airbox that controls where the air comes from to the engine. When the car is cold, air flows through this hose to a smaller hole in the airbox. As the car warms up and warm air enters through this hose, the thermostat changes the damper position to a larger hole that draws air in through the radiator's large plastic air intake. If you don't have this hose, the car won't work well when it's warm, especially after driving on the freeway.
