I took the thermal paste from the "factory assembly" for the i5-11400F to replace it, having previously tested it for transcoding a one and a half minute video to H.265 (Handbrake promised to stretch it for at least an hour) and archiving in 7zip *on one core* in order to check the calculations about that graphite distributes heat *along* its plane better than thermal paste and, thus, is able to heat the radiator better in such scenarios. The gasket itself - thin and more like a piece of cloth - turned out to be slightly larger than the processor, so it was carefully cut with a scalpel to fit it. The result is still small, but the improvement and equalization of temperatures in the test with the archiver with an increase in the time between switching the load from core to core (the teeth of the "most loaded core" in the second graph are much wider at a temperature of 2.5-5 degrees less compared to first, the peaks of the "average temperature of the less loaded" - less often and lower, and judging by the pie charts - with a thermal pad, the processor considered the alternation of the load between cores 2 and 3 without connecting the remaining cores to be more preferable than in the case of thermal paste), and in the test with recoding of the same video - Handbrake has already done it in 15 minutes (I do not exclude that, among other things, due to the fact that the contact of the "carbon fiber cloth" simply turned out to be better than that of thermal paste unevenly applied at the factory). Conclusion - a good option for those PCs where there is no talk of overclocking the processor, but there is a reason to optimize its further maintenance (whether it's about office PCs, about a desktop computer from parents or grandmother, or about a personal computer for work and undemanding games)
