got this for caprese kebab. the ends have a slightly pointed tip. Pierce small blocks of salami with no problem. none broke during assembly. from the whole package 50 - there were very many 2 where the ends dissolved. which was perfectly normal. The ends are tied loosely so you can assume they are 100% knotted. The length was perfect for a scoop of Moserella, grape tomatoes, basil and a block of salami with room for maybe 3 more grape tomatoes if you wanted. I have ordered again for another batch. makes a great snack presentation
