Review on 🚘 EXEDY SC825 Clutch Slave Cylinder: Superior Performance and Reliability for Smooth Gear Shifting by Jorge Kehayas

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Quality part, no problems after 3 months and more than 3,000 miles.

I was worried because I thought it was pretty cheap. I was concerned that this was not a quality item. But I've had it installed for about 3 months now with no problems. The original slave was leaking and the pedal was too soft. I had to keep the brake fluid in the trunk just in case. At the same time I replaced the entire hydraulic clutch system because the fluid was so disgusting and the maintenance of my Miata was neglected when I bought it used. The clutch's new master and slave cylinders, plus a braided stainless steel tube in between, made the clutch quite stiff. My car now shifts remarkably smoothly when the clutch is fully disengaged. I strongly recommend doing the whole system the way I did. This ensures that a pile of old, abandoned dirt that has been sitting around in the system for years doesn't just blow a hole in the gaskets of the new part you just installed. I had just over $100 out of my own pocket as of August 2020 to do the work, improve the handling and make the car a lot more enjoyable.
