Biggest pliers I have ever had. This huge channellock is larger than I expected but has the solid construction, smooth ride and weight I've come to expect from a brand. The ratchet and detent means the wide jaw grip is a comfortable narrow grip at the bottom. grip (the grip itself doesn't get wider until you get past the 4.25-inch claw), but it's still an intimidatingly hefty tool. Add in the force required to apply torque (or hold a gripped object), and you'll need the forearms of a carpenter (or bodybuilder) to operate these pliers with one hand. Recommended, but consider downsizing if you don't need the full 4.25 inches of the Model 460 for a less clunky, easy-to-use plier.
