I am very happy with this mixed media paper. I am using it for the first time. I'm not sure why I didn't try this before, but I'm glad I tried during this project. It was exactly what I needed. I just finished it to illustrate a junk magazine style children's book, so I've used/tested a lot of different mediums over the past week. I don't have the skin in game, I bought it myself. But I do like to read reviews before I buy (before spending money lol) so maybe this review will help another hobbyist/maker/artist decide what paper they need. and various adhesives. No problem. This is probably the best paper I've ever used with gesso because the media didn't distort the page in any way. I put it on TOLSTOY! The paper/canvas did not move. She continued to lie flat. From now on, whenever I need a thick, putty-like texture (like the hospital one in the photo), I'll use this paper. And now that I think about it, I almost sworn off gesso and gel mediums. I just didn't have the right paper. I have NOT used water color on this paper and I wouldn't either. It is non-flowing and non-absorbent, so your watercolor paint will not be effective. I wouldn't recommend using it as the main character block either. You can draw on the page before painting, but it's too smooth for graphite or charcoal to stick to. I haven't tried oil yet, but it should work fine with oil paint, so I'm not worried. My ink pens did a great job. I haven't drawn on it with ink or quinque yet, but then again the non-porous surface probably doesn't work well with ink, and I don't want to use water-based markers on it. You can always attach your drawn or sketched page to this thick canvas paper by gluing it like I did in my project. You can try applying a layer of plaster or gel to make this paper play better with water-based paints and markers. Once your surface is dry everything should work fine. In my photos you can see where I used this paper in some of the cut outs (Photo: pregnant mom and hospital cut out) and I also used it as the durable paper I made on each side. on the. (The arms are also cut out of my notebook and applied to the canvas.) I usually use heavyweight cardstock or heavyweight (overpriced) watercolor paper to add weight to the pages in these projects, but so far this canvas paper is excellent and it is best value for $. Hope that helps. Have fun making :)
