Bought this tool to remove a stud from a Highlander 3MZ-FE engine. For anyone interested, this is an M8 stud with Toyota part number 90126-08012. The installed 99mm bolt has 13mm of open M8 threads outside of the motor mount (not counting the extra 4mm for the E8 tabs at the top), just enough for the bolt remover to "bite" the bolt a bit . The short 12mm thread that screws into the motor is factory coated with blue threadlock compound (Three Bond 1324 or equivalent) and the bolt torque is 11 ft-lbs. It should be noted that Three Bond 1324 specifications state that the "thread locking performance" of this product is approximately 25 or 30 ft-lbs before failure. My experience with this tool was really disappointing. ' in the pen. But when my applied torque exceeded about 20 foot-pounds or so, there was a loud metallic "PLINK" and everything just loosened and loosened. The tool did not break - the internal moving parts were simply "drained". " to the free "Start" position. This repeated a few more times. Eventually there was a creeping movement that appeared to result from the bolt being unscrewed from the factory threadlocking compound. Indeed, what actually happened was the following : At about 20 or 30 lb-ft of torque the tool rolled over the fixed bolt After another "PLINK" I removed the tool and saw the tool "roll" the threads of the bolt into a greaser Due to this thread damage, the tool was no longer able to "hook" a smaller diameter bolt. I ended up resorting to a Lisle bolt puller, which loosened the bolt instantly on the first try. Tee is too big to fit tight spaces, but by putting a hex adapter on a Lisle tool and using a narrow box wrench instead of a bulky 1/2" ratchet, I was able to make it fit). The reason for the 2 star rating instead of 1 star is that I believe I can continue to use this tool on fairly loose M8 bolts in the future. So it will live in the back of my toolbox until that happens.
