Call 24 hours a day Attention customers!

If you are using a Ring Smoke/Carbon Monoxide Hearing Aid: According to First Alert Customer Service, this device can only say the word "Carbon Monoxide" and then display the corresponding location in the connected room . So if your smoke alarm in the kitchen goes off and your carbon monoxide device is in your living room by the fireplace, the carbon monoxide device will say "Carbon monoxide detected in kitchen" with the appropriate carbon monoxide alarm tones. Normally this would just be an annoyance; However, if you place your Ring Smoke/CO Listener near this unit, ALL smoke alarms will trigger an instantaneous 0 second delay from the Fire Department. Instead, you need to place an earpiece next to one of your smoke alarms to avoid this problem. I only bought CO because I just wanted it in our room with a wood burning fireplace, gas wasn't hooked up to our house. I placed the carbon monoxide detector 5 inches off the floor along with the handset 4 inches apart to test for convenience, but unfortunately this carbon monoxide detector just can't accommodate such an arrangement. Also, why would you design a CO alarm that is built in but always lets you know that CO is present in the rest of your home? So I'm going to replace this device with a smoke/carbon monoxide combo alarm that really distinguishes between smoke and carbon monoxide on alarm and voice: SCO500B. I'm disappointed that First Alert used this model knowing it worked at all.
