Review on 🎡 Enhanced BOSS Audio Systems 755DBI In-Dash MP3 Receiver with Solid State Technology and Convenient Built-In iPod Docking Station by Dan Venegas

Not bad in many ways, but there are inexplicable flaws.

I bought this radio to replace the factory radio in my Miata. The factory radio was blown and I just wanted something with an extra input and a USB port. It's not a bad radio. It is inexpensive and has these features. It's easy to use, except for the FM tuning (a low priority feature for me as I listen to my own music). long trip. However, it feels very cheap. The iPod dock is annoying as it can easily be pulled out accidentally. Unfortunately, I didn't know that a USB port is a mini USB port. While many cell phones these days use a miniusb port for charging, I don't have a miniusb to miniusb cable to test if my phone is charging. Most phones are picky about cables and come with a standard USB to mini cable that works. Most music players also come with a standard USB cable. A standard size port would be much more useful. Oddly enough, BOSS seems to understand this as they packaged a cable with a negative plug on a standard jack. It's odd that they didn't originally design it with a USB-A connector. Second, and this is the biggest issue I have with the block, while most of the installation consists of relatively simple wiring of a new connector, which isn't difficult to assemble the block. There is no way to install it. like no. There's a thin metal strap that can be bent to support the back of the device, but there's no way to install it into any frame. The manual states that the screw holes on the side of the unit must match the holes in the factory mounting frame, but there are no holes on the side of the unit. I'm still trying to figure out how exactly I'm going to attach this thing to my car, which is a totally unnecessary headache that could have been eliminated if the manufacturer had just drilled holes in the case as instructed.
