VHF antenna greatly improved reception. My system is installed on the first floor of my two story ranch home. I'm mainly interested in only two stations: WETA from Hagerstown and WBJC from Baltimore. Remarkably, they are about the same distance from me (in Gathersburg, Maryland), but WETA turned out to be much worse than WBJC in terms of signal. With this antenna, both became bearable. I haven't tried anything more complicated (yet), but this simple cheap antenna seems to solve my problem for a while. I haven't tried the AM antenna. In general I am satisfied
