Review on πŸ–¨ Premium Monoprice ABS Printer Filament – Enhanced Compatibility for Optimum Results by Will Lockhart

Poor spool design, color is lighter than expected

ABS is a difficult material to print on. It requires a much higher temperature than PLA and is less prone to warping. It has good durability and works well in warm environments where PLA may not work. So I have no complaints about the properties of PLA. The actual color of the thread is much lighter than I expected. Light purple, I wouldn't even call it ultraviolet. I know that pictures on the web do not exactly match the actual item, but the pictures show a much darker color in my opinion. Warning against tempters. My big complaint is the spool that the line is threaded on. It's wider than other rolls I have and I had to print a longer support arm to use it. Even so, there are ribs just behind the inner sleeve that catch and pull on the support arm. I applied teflon tape to make it roll as smooth as possible but it still had issues. I ended up having to file down the offending ribs to keep the reel rolling smoothly. I thought Monoprice filament for the Monoprice printer would work, but that's definitely not the case. I would not recommend this thread unless you already have a wide spool pin and/or don't mind using it.
