Review on Air-Stirrup Ankle Support Brace By Aircast: Optimal Support For Ankle Injuries by Nate Jenkins

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good support But.: my feedback

Only 3 stars because plastic air cell/foam is very weakly attached with inferior glue to the rigid support and you're going to have to epoxy them in place after a couple weeks use. Also will need to replace mid strap with foot diagram on it with your own 1" wide velcro strap soon. That said, you need a stirrup design like this for anything above grade 1 sprain, mainly because the support goes a lot higher up leg and that helps a lot, even if you think the problem is just around the ankle knobs. Everything is connected. Especially if the surfaces you must walk on on all day are uneven/rough. So get the large which is tallest. Around the ankle knobs all sizes fit the same. After mostly healed or maybe for indoor flat floors you can get by with something lower down like maybe the Aircast airsupport which can be taken on and off much faster and more comfortable/cooler but is right/left dependent. This stirrup model is interchangeable right/left foot despite what aircast says. Can just switch stirrups around. Addressed this in the questions section.

  • Reduces swelling and inflammation
Cons
  • May not be suitable for daily use
