Weak/weak springs and flimsy plastic parts

I don't really speak German but another reviewer seems to describe how the product ejection mechanism broke within the first five minutes. I had the same experience. I took mine apart to see what I could do about it and found that one of the two springs MUST be replaced, but I could already see that part of the plastic mechanism would break and even the replaced spring would be useless. But even with these shortcomings, the device does exactly what I need it to do. I didn't buy this to temporarily dock to a laptop hard drive. It's entered the Whack-a-Dell SFF machine I use for testing, and I'm booting it off one of several smaller SSDs depending on WHAT I'm testing. The car is always powered, so I don't need a dust cover. It is now held open without the small door spring with some glue. The locking element and springs have been removed from the eject mechanism, so the fully manual eject button is now reliable, albeit cheaper than the first press. He's doing his job. To be honest I don't know how anyone can make this product that much better than it is. Fragile plastic parts and brittle springs could be better but not much better as the space isn't very big. If you want to connect a 2.5 inch drive to your laptop, buy a USB enclosure. If you're looking to replace the boot disks on a small Dell beater used for testing, buy this, expect the mechanism to be likely to fail, and plan to retrofit it. if it happens.
