Review on 🔧 GM Genuine Parts Hands-Free Rear Liftgate Closing Module (Part No. 25889603) by Fritz Wiest

This worked well on my 2007 2500 Suburban which was making a grinding noise when opening the tailgate. The whole job took 1 hour as I took my time to avoid breaking the panel clips to get to the failed unit. It's pretty easy. The problem and disadvantage is that although all the main gears are metal, there are plastic gears in the actuator solenoid that drive the metal gears. An improper push or pull on the tailgate while it's moving can (and does) rip off the plastic gears. I took care of that by disassembling the old block. Moral of the story: Don't touch the back door while it's moving.
