Bought the carpeted version and it's a hit with dogs! Wide enough, long enough and perfect for dogs to get into the back of my pickup/van (30" tailgate height). I use these with two rottweilers and they were easy to get onto the back of the truck after a few training sessions, a little awkward if you take them to get them to their destination but i bought them mainly to help them sit down and get up after the daily drive from the truck in my garage so it works for us, agree others that a handle would be useful to move it when not in use (we leave it open so it's not a problem for us) and also a handle can be added with very little skill/cost The dog is in the Stepped near the bend of the step You probably didn't lock the strut Each strut is locked to keep it from collapsing under the dog's weight There was a problem with the steps I have a return Bought item from Revain warehouse for $40 less and it was in perfect condition. Stable rungs when locked. For the full price I think it's a bit overpriced, hence I'm only giving 4 stars.
