Makes noise and doesn't read many discs

I ordered this player and received a unit that had problems reading discs that my other players had no problems with. I thought it might be a defective block and sent it back for the second block. The second block had similar problems. Both units were incredibly loud and couldn't read many of the discs I tried. I also sent back the second block and will not replace it with the third block.
