Review on Bridgestone Potenza Sport 265/45 R20 108 year old by Kiril Mechkarski ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

Prior to that, Continental ContiSportContact 5 tires had been on for 5 years, rubber with a very soft sidewall, very soft itself, which eventually led to large breakdowns when driving on gravel, which prompted the idea of changing the rubber, although the tread still had a power reserve. The negative experience of numerous punctures and large breakdowns (as I thought due to the excessive softness of the rubber) made me pay attention to the Bridgestone, with a stiffer side and, according to reviews, in principle, more rigid, but at the same time more reliable. During installation, I immediately noticed that the rubber bead is much more rigid and thick, due to which the "donut" with the same dimensions has become much smaller, the rubber does not flatten like Continental (the car is quite heavy GL-X166). The biggest surprise was when driving the first kilometers: it was as if the suspension of the car had been changed - all the small bumps on which the interior rattled on the continental began to be swallowed by rubber and were practically not felt. There was a feeling that I changed the tires from domestic oak to a good imported one. The car stopped flopping into every hole, the suspension began to work out both small and large irregularities in a completely different way: where I used to drive 40 km / h on a bad road, now I drive 60-80 km / h in comfort without shaking everything in the cabin. It keeps the tires on the track during maneuvers just many times better, there are no such rolls and pulling in the turn, as on the Continental, nothing has changed in terms of noise level! Continental Sport is not a quiet rubber, but it also tapped into the cabin in every bump, and on the Bridgestone PSport only a soft rustle is heard. You may not believe it, but I did not expect such a difference, rather I expected a deterioration in the hard side and the side of noise, but I got rubber in a class so much higher that it was just heaven and earth. I also bought it at a price 40% cheaper than the cost of a new continental. In general, upon the fact of purchase I am 1000% happy, let's see what happens next, but for now the feeling is that with rubber, the car seems to have changed to a fresher one.

Pros
  • High reliability and comfort level, good road holding.
Cons
  • In my size, there is a large outer side, the rubber, like a donut, sticks out very much behind the disk, although this is additional protection for the disk, but it looks not very good.
