Watch out for broken tips when you give!

Considering I bought this set on a lightning deal for less than $10 it was definitely good value. The set comes in a cardboard tube as shown in the photo. It arrived with a couple of broken tips, not sure if this was the result of poor shipping packaging, but it wasn't a big deal to me. If you're planning on giving them as gifts, at least check the pens before you pack them or send them to the recipient to make sure they don't have any broken tips. The pens are numbered but do not have color names. Since you can only tell the color at the tip or bottom of the pencil colored to resemble the color I will most likely transfer them to a pencil case and classify them by color. It's more of a personal preference - I like to see all the pens when picking a color and hold them straight and also pull out individual colors to use and know what they were. I haven't tried the pens yet, so I can't comment on actual usability. I will update my review if they either blow me away or are very disappointing. Assuming I have 72 color pencils for the price I paid I don't expect these to be top quality pencils. If they at least paint reasonably well, don't throw dust, sharpen properly, and the bottom ends are close to the color of the pencils, then I'm happy.
