Review on SiriusXM SXSD2 Portable Speaker System by Chris Shields

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nearly perfect!

My primary use of the dock is for RV's and the ability to bring music to the street, beach or fireside. everywhere, even on the bus. I have an Onyx and a car mount so it plays through my home system on wheels while driving, there is also a home mount next to my home audio system and now with the speaker dock I can take my music anywhere, at home or on the go. I haven't had any problems so far, good reception at home, in the van and on the road, even in the forest. The antenna nestles tightly against the back of the speaker and tilts upwards. Excess wire has room to wrap, so fits snugly. It may take some force to "fix" the antenna to the speaker, but it stays in place and won't fall off. I had a little time to get the adapter plate for the Onyx to click into place, but after a few tries and lots of hard pressing, the plate clicked into place and the Onyx was secure and didn't come loose or wobble when you pressed the buttons. For people complaining about this, it's possible you all attached the plate incorrectly. When it snaps into place properly, there are no gaps around the platter and the platter itself does not move. almost as cast there from the factory. This speaker would be a dream come true if it had Bluetooth so other devices could use it without a wired AUX connection. The sound is great. I'm still not sure if I miss being able to adjust the sound, so far this hasn't been a problem. The device is heavy, especially with a full charge of D-cells, but the handle is well positioned and comfortable to use.
