These bulbs are transparent. Although the color of the glass looks quite dark when it's off, the color it gives off when it's on isn't deep in my opinion, more like a cool white. Still better than a warm white transparent lamp, but wish the blue was deeper. If you didn't know that the fixture had blue bulbs installed, you could easily assume the bulbs were just cool white ones. In addition, the color finish of the lamp is applied to the outside of the glass bulb. The coating does not adhere well to glass in my experience and rubs off easily. Be extremely careful during installation, otherwise the coating may wear off.
