Review on Bridgestone Blizzak VRX 195/55 R16 87S winter by Wiktor Wiktor ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice product, happy with my purchase and may buy again.

First time riding Velcro, before that there were IC5000 and Googyear UG 500 breeches. Riding style is calm. Car Kalina. Driving experience 10 years. During this autumn I rode from Kazakhstan (+10) to Hong Kong (-17). Particular attention to the movement, probably not only for those who ride Velcro, this is a transitional temperature from -5 to +5. The coating itself is slippery, but I got used to the rubber from the first braking. Bridgstone engineers were struck by directional stability and control on snow and ice-bravo, it’s not in vain that you get a salary. Certainly not like it rides on rails, but the car is completely under control. You have to slow down in advance, it accelerates to the body longer than the neighboring row, and in the city I don’t delay the flow behind those walking. The maximum speed has decreased - you can’t accelerate more than a hundred on ice, it can be demolished. But the most important thing is that the average speed has not fallen noticeably, so in the city I arrive at any point 5 minutes later, and on the highway for 800 km I lose an hour of time. I will say right away about the battle between studs and non-studs. I'm for stickies. I took Velcro for several factors - firstly, fuel consumption decreased. You go quieter, you will continue, and you will save fuel (now it costs a lot). Second, there is less noise. Thirdly, there is less harm to asphalt from me, 4/5 of the roads where I traveled are cleared of ice. Well, Bridgestone is for durable tires. On the IC 5000 for 6 years I drove more than 80 thousand miles, half of the spikes remained, and not a single hernia. all six years in Hong Kong the roads were in the pits.

Pros
  • Unlike studded, it behaves absolutely predictably on any surface. Significantly reduced fuel consumption and decreased noise.
Cons
  • Well, rather, this is a specificity - when there is ice under the wheels, it definitely makes a noise, it creates a kind of acoustic bell - ice under the wheels. Changes properties when the temperature passes through 0 - perceptibly on the control.
