For years we had been using a regular dish towel under our dish rack. And for years I’d been grossed out by how quickly it became (and stayed) musty and damp. When I came across this silicone mat I was thrilled. However I was hesitant to get too excited about it as other reviewers had said that is also became and stayed damp. I have not had this issue at all. Yes, it does hold the water droplets, but our mat drys out in a few hours. We’ve never had to manually dry it off. I also really like the fact that this mat can double as a hot pad if need be. This is a huge plus in a kitchen as small as ours.
