Massive firmware problem

Make sure you have updated the firmware to the latest version. When I first used it, it had many problems. After the latest firmware I'm using, there are still a lot of problems. First, hardware calibration doesn't work on macOS; You need to find a Windows computer. HDR over TH4 not available on M1 Max MacBook (connection via TH4 to TH4 cable or TH4 to DisplayPort cable); HDMI on Macbook works with HDR, but HDMI2.0 on MacBook does not support 4K@120. But none of them can send 10-bit information. It was locked to 8 bits. Someone reported that this can be fixed by changing the EDID information in the system. It looks like the monitor reported incorrect EDID information on macOS. Hopefully this can be fixed in a future firmware update. And Dolby Vision on Xbox does not support 4K at 120Hz, and enabling DV function on the monitor disables 4K 120. To switch back, you need to reset your monitor for Xbox to recognize it. Currently DV 4K 120Hz, you can only choose two of them. I hope that the EDID issue will be solved in the future so that we can use HDR/10Bit with the M1 Max MacBook.

  • Bad viewing angles. Poor viewing angles can cause the display to appear distorted or blurry when viewed from the side or at an angle.
