Review on Infrared Thermometer AP 985C APP Bluetooth 50℃~800℃ by Eric Rios

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Convenient remote data collection via Bluetooth.

battery instructions are wrong. There is a screw on the underside of the grip which I had to remove after nearly snapping a nail trying to "pry" the finger rest as instructed. Therefore, a Phillips screwdriver is included in the scope of delivery. The battery is inserted, the cover is screwed on. Ready for work. After that, I had no trouble finding the app on the Google Play Store and installing it on a replacement Kyocera phone running Android 5.1. After you activate the thermometer (one click of the trigger) and click download in the app, the phone's Bluetooth quickly connects to the app, allowing you to remotely control all of the thermometer's functions (backlight on/off, high and low). low alarms, emissivity). , C/F, etc.) and collect data each time the shutter button is pressed. The data is then optionally "saved" as a text file on the phone. This is in addition to the thermometer's "memory" feature for the last 20 readings (also accessible via the app). The app also includes an additional control to set (and "save") the auto sample rate from 0.5 to 60 seconds at a time. You press "Measure" on the app to start and "Stop" when you're done. The "Reset" button will erase the data or, as mentioned earlier, it can be "saved". The app also records two data readings each time you manually pull the trigger. The app also lets you set an "auto-off time" between 0 and 999 minutes (where 0 means no auto-off). The thermometer will then "turn off" at the selected time (after the last reading) until you press "Boot" again. If you turn off the app, the thermometer appears to revert to its built-in 2-minute timeout after each button press. Once you restart and "download" the app, the app auto-disable setting will take effect again. I haven't fully calibrated the accuracy yet, but it reads the inside of my "freezer" to 1 degree F of the digital control setting. Bluetooth seems to work at least 30 feet away, but had to "reboot" the connection as soon as I went out of range and back, or toggled the app off and on again. So far this device and app appears to be a very inexpensive system for measuring or collecting non-contact temperature data. It would be nice to have some sort of online user guide explaining those features of the app that I had to figure out myself.
