Review on MOOG Chassis Products K90255 Joint by John Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product, difficult to install

My lower ball joints on my 1999 Tacoma were finally starting to wear out so I decided to replace them as a good at replacing parts before I had a catastrophic failure. These Moog UBJs are a quality product, but installation can be a daunting task if you don't have the right equipment (press). There are ways to install these things without heavy pressing, but I wouldn't recommend them if you value your sanity. The stock top of my Tacoma was smooth while they had grooves on them to give a nice and snug fit. The grooves require a lot of effort to get these things in, which I didn't have the tools or time to do. I ended up taking off the old tops and just walking my hands into the shop where they pressed in the new tops for a small fee. CONCLUSION This is a solid product that feels as good or better than OEM hinges. It's worth the money, but installation can be a bit tricky without the right hardware.

Pros
  • ABSORBS SHOCKS -- Belleville preload washer helps keep the bearing pack under tension as the bearings wear out
Cons
  • Very expensive
