I had problems with the fuel system shortly after installing this filter. Upon diagnosing, I found that the bolts holding the two pieces of filter housing together were completely removed at the factory. I suspect they used an impact wrench to assemble the blocks and overtightened the bolts, causing the plastic to come loose. This causes the filter housing to expand during use and not maintain proper fuel pressure, causing fuel pumps to fail and ultimately causing, rather than preventing, costly repairs. If you are trying to do preventive maintenance on your Touareg I would avoid this low quality product unless you want to start diagnosing and replacing other fuel system components. Also, the seller refused to exercise this right by replacing the broken filter, he asked for photos of the product, which was not possible since it was installed and they could not be done until the replacement was in the car. I bought a full price OEM part from VW and had no problems.
