When I worked for a mold removal company this was used. Now we can buy that and not use anything else. If you understand how mold grows, don't touch it. Spray it with sporazide. Kills mold spores. It says to be used at 68 degrees but it was 48 degrees and I used it. It worked. For some reason my garage was leaking water and mold was infesting my soft materials. Backpack. pot lids etc. After soaking them in the product overnight I was able to put them in the washing machine. If you can't get the mold to kill, you may or may not wash the surface. The product does not have an unpleasant odor and will disappear over time. Don't use anything else.
