Installation of UV water purification systems with ballast for incandescent use. I always install surge protection so surges don't destroy the ballast. I'm always looking for a surge protector that I can plug into an outlet and then plug into my UV system. I thought it was one of those. SURPRISE! This is a wired outlet that plugs into a square metal junction box. This is a very durable and seemingly reliable surge protector designed for hospital use. But it doesn't fit in an outlet. You must plug it in where the new installation will be made. I have ordered eight of these and will keep them multiple times when I need to hook up a new circuit to power the UV system I have installed. Maybe I didn't read the description carefully enough, but keep in mind that this is not a "pluggable" surge protector. Good quality for a new installation, but poor quality for an existing socket.
