This fuel line is measured on the outside diameter and will work with barbed push-fit fittings or even compression fittings such as those used for copper tubing except those for nylon tubing must be used with an insert, or the compression fitting itself must have an insert built into the fitting. I use a tube of silicone lube to lubricate the jagged ends of the pressure joint, you can also use a hair dryer but silicone lube is all I need. To hold the nylon fuel line, I sometimes use appropriately sized dies from my flare kit clamped in a vise or the jaws of large vise pliers. Keep this nylon fuel line away from excessive heat and prevent it from chafing/rubbing on sharp objects and it will last 15 years or more.
