I bought these to replace single use plastic sponges with something more eco friendly. I like to use them to clean vegetables, but they are not suitable for washing dishes. Because they are a series of silicone protrusions rather than a piece of sponge or cloth, they don't make good contact with the surface. (For example, if I try to wash the lip gloss off the rim of a glass, they don't mind because they don't actually "wipe" the surface, just bump it.) They also don't hold soap. well, if you sort out a lot more soap - it's not so environmentally friendly. I like that they can be washed in the dishwasher for disinfection.
